Owen is two months old! This little man is growing soooooo fast. He is already over 14 pounds and steadily gaining . William was so tiny for so long (and still is) I kind of don’t know what to do with a big baby
This month has brought on a lot of changes. Within the last few weeks Owen has started to smile (and laugh!!! ) on purpose instead of just in his sleep. He absolutely adores his big brother and will lovingly stare and smile at him for long bouts of time. Big brother loves him too, and keeps mommy on her toes making sure he doesn’t love on him too much (I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a 23 pound toddler try to pick up a 14 pound baby but it doesn’t exactly work out in the baby’s favor )
We took Owen in for a checkup a few days ago to get his hemangioma (the birth mark on his face) looked at, and they are going ahead and referring us on to a dermatologist in the city for a second look due to it’s size and location. So, hopefully we will have a game plan as far as that is concerned within the next couple of months.
Owen has also really started enjoying a bit of tummy time in the day. Especially when big brother talks to him and brings him toys to look out. At this point he’s just about a pro when it comes to holding up his head, and he loves to stare at his daddy’s guitars up on the wall (especially the gray and black electric…which is my favorite to stare at too. 😛 ).
As much as Owen is starting to interact with his surroundings he is definitely still my little cuddle bug. I always tell people “he is the worlds happiest baby…as long as he’s being held”. From day one he has been happiest in someones arms (it doesn’t even have to be mommy’s, although I do think that is preferred ). I’m pretty certain God gave me this little snuggly chunk to get some muscle definition back because he most definitely gives me a daily workout.
He has decided within the last week or so that he is okay with taking an afternoon nap in mom and dad’s room, and that he can probably live with short periods of time in his bouncer or swing as long as mom is within his line of site. My productivity levels are certainly thankful (and my back for that matter…you can only wear a baby carrier for so long before things get tense), but I am going to enjoy all these precious snuggles for as long as he wants to give them to me.

Oh my goodness this is one of my favorite ages. I love your lifestyle photography. My kiddos are past this stage, but seeing your photos made me miss it so much.
Mine as well! Thanks so much 🙂 They grow so fast!
What a little cutie! Hemangiomas like that can be easily treated by dermatology or plastic surgery. They can shrink the blood vessels with laser and in a few treatments and over a few months, the hemangioma will barely be there!
Thank you so much! Yes, we are pretty hopeful that this should be a simple easy fix (and worst case it should go away on it’s on eventually)
He is such a cutie! And you tell big brother just loves him!
Aww, thanks (we think so too 😛 )!
Oh I love him!! Prayers for the birth mark!!
Thank you so much! We appreciate the prayers 🙂
