Warm and Bright Winter Wedding, Fairview OK | Ethan + Dulcie

As a wedding photographer I cherish every wedding I have the honor of shooting, but it hits a little different when the wedding days roll around that I get to capture these sweet memories for family.

Saturday held one of these moments, doubly so.

My husbands younger brother who I’ve known since he was a young boy, said I do to none other than my cousin (who’s always felt closer to a younger sister…and now she officially is one!)

Their day took place at First Baptist Church of Fairview, and was filled to the brim with special moments and people.

The day began at the hair salon where Dulcie, one of her sisters Alexa (she has 11 siblings and 1 on the way 😉 ) our grandma, Haylee, and I sat and visited with each other and Dulcie’s fantastic hair stylist- Karla. Recounting memories and sharing excitement over the day to come.

Afterwards George brought us lunch and then the day really began.

Dulcie shared several sweet moments with her mom, and bridesmaids during the getting ready portion of the day. Then we brought her older brother Braden in for a first look so he could help her put on her necklace – a gift from him

After that Dulcie shared a first look with both her dad, and her nine brothers (Definitely look for those photos in the blog post…seeing all their reactions was adorable!)

After getting back to the room the ladies spent a few minutes praying over Dulcie, Ethan, and their marriage, and Alexa presented Dulcie with her wedding gift (a customized album full of letters from many of the women in her life)

Ethan got ready with his brothers (with some much needed aid from one of his nine sisters Emily when it came time for the boutonnieres) and then it was time for the ceremony!
They shared their vows as well as a unity ceremony pouring paint over a canvas – a representation not only of their lives melding together, but of their relationship with God being at the center of their marriage.

Photos followed. Along with some antics…which is only to be expected when you’re related to 90% of the bridal party (That said I fully blame you if you’re reading this George William 😛 ) and then onto the reception.

Their couples first dance, and father daughter dance were some of my favorite moments of the day.

Nella, the brides youngest sister ran up during the father daughter dance and led two all three of the sisters sharing a sweet moment with their daddy

At the end of the reception Dulcie also spent a moment in prayer and conversation with all the young single ladies in attendance and continued the tradition of dispersing the flowers of her bouquet to them (Started by Olivia…you can view her and Braden’s wedding here, and Continued, and outlined in Leda and Jordan’s blog post from last spring

After a quick bubble exit and dreamy sunset photos at the historical society and these two were off to begin their lives together (starting with a Hawaii honeymoon 😉 )

Dear Dulcie and Ethan,

I’m so incredibly happy for you as you begin your life together. I cannot wait to watch the direction the Lord takes you in. It is my prayer that you will always keep you relationship with Him at the center of your marriage – if you do I know you will have a strong one.

Love you both!

~Jordyn

P.S. Being just a few weeks postpartum with our sweet Haylee this wedding day looked a lot different than normal. Huge shout out to my amazing second shooter, and sister, Jaylie for going above and beyond for this wedding. She spent the day not only second shooting but playing babysitter to Haylee on the side. She also took the lead on shooting during the first half of the reception while I took a break with the baby.

And huge thank you to my mom and the many other family members who helped watch her during the ceremony (and several other portions of the day) and kept her happy as both George and I were occupied for the day! I absolutely could not have captured this special day without you all!
